Who are we?
Founded in 1989 in the U.K., Metrodata's initial goal was to overcome incompatibilities in the connection of Data equipment to Network Services via 'Data Service Unit' (DSU) products. Our early product line-up included Speed, Interface and Protocol Conversion devices for Wide Area Networking applications.
Based near London's Heathrow Airport, Metrodata designs and manufactures solutions for customers Worldwide, with some 40% of production destined for markets outside the U.K.
What do we do?
Metrodata has retained its specialisation in Interface and Standards Conversion and today offers a wide range of hardware based 'interface matching' solutions for the LAN and WAN arena. Interfaces supported include X.21/V.35, EIA-530, HSSI, LVDS, E1/T1, E3/DS3, STM-1/OC3, ATM, 10/100/1000 Ethernet and more...
In the context of our support for a multitude of interfaces, the company offers a wide range of products for electrical-fibre signal conversion & service extension, E1 and SDH multiplexing, Ethernet media conversion, LAN Extension and multi-service Convergence & Backhaul solutions, particularly for satellite communication applications.

Metrodata supplies directly and via Integration Partners in Europe, the USA, LATAM and the Middle East and continually strives to develop new markets.

For multi-service Convergence and Backhaul for Satellite Communications, particular strengths include our support for high data rates and clock-sensitive applications, via our ATM-switch based 'Access Processor' platform. Allied with our expertise in interfacing Serial Cryptos, we have developed a strong customer base amongst Defence organisations.
